Reports to: General Manager

Attire: FETC logo shirt (t-shirt or collared), shorts or pants in good condition, closed toe shoes. Strive to always appear neat, clean, and tidy.

This role provides excellent customer service and produces efficient and effective results in four primary areas:

  • Setting clear expectations for design deliverables to design teams and clients with a focus on getting as many decisions as possible made prior to construction.
  • Identifying scope gaps or potential issues with project design / deliverables reviews.
  • Support FET pre construction team by clarifying design, scope, and material plans through estimating.
  • Support production teams by clarifying design, scope, and material plans at handoff as well as through active construction as needed.

Expectations by which this position will be measured:

(Pre-Construction & Downloads )

  • Budget Development
  • Review material allowances with precon team during the in-house estimate phase.
  • Review plans for scope gaps to assist estimating team in gathering information to produce more accurate estimates.
  • Update Design Coordinator portion of precon checklist.

(Design Development Phase )

  • Design Development & Client Set Up
  • Attend Selections Kickoff meeting with Clients (scheduled by Business Development) to review and populate the following deliverables:
  • Decisions Timeline and Source List with Material Cost Allowances & Preferred Vendor List to assist clients with understanding of selections, budgets and vendor sources.
  • Design Deliverables List - Document with list and description of design decisions and details needed for construction; holds design team and clients accountable to provide info needed.
  • Create and own selection tiers and spreadsheets needed for mining information from client and design team and helping procure pricing for finish selections as needed.
  • Identify long lead items needing to be ordered prior to construction; review and get approval from client, architect, and FET project manager prior to Project Coordinator ordering.
  • Selections & Production Set Up / Hand Off
  • Schedule and lead Design Coordination handoff to PM & Superintendent on the project. Deliverables for this meeting to include:
  • Material Specifications Sheet populated with answers through Group 2 at least.
  • Design Deliverables List with links to drawings, etc provided by designers / client.
  • Finish Schedule if not provided by designer
  • Door & Window Schedule if not provided by architect

(Production Phase )

  • Production Team Coordination / Quality Management
  • Attend key site visits as requested by client or PM (MEP rough-ins, samples reviews, etc)
  • Assist PMs / Superintendents as needed with material questions.
  • Punch List & Close Out Assistance
  • Assist with project completion - quality control and finishing details.
  • Attend FETC internal punch list review when requested by PM.
  • Assist Project. Coordinator with Close Out Docs that pertain to design coordination:
  • Final Finish Schedule w/ Correct Paint Colors, Etc.
  • Final Specs Review for accuracy before including in Close Out Docs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
