As a Supervisor, Commercial Fiber, you will oversee the planning, installation, and maintenance of commercial fiber optic networks. You will manage a team of technicians and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in fiber optics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Project Management:

Lead a team of fiber optic technicians, providing guidance and support throughout project lifecycles.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on individual strengths and project requirements.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Plan and schedule fiber optic installation projects for commercial clients.
Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
Ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
Monitor installation and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Conduct inspections and testing of completed work to verify performance and reliability.
Implement corrective actions as needed to address quality issues.
Possess in-depth knowledge of fiber optic technology, including installation techniques, splicing, and troubleshooting.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fiber optic technology.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members as required.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities and expand service offerings.
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including budgets, timelines, and resources.
Generate reports summarizing project status, milestones achieved, and lessons learned.
Assist in preparing proposals and estimates for new projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience (5 years) in fiber optic network installation and maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment and industry-specific software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in fiber optic technology (e.g., CFOS/D, CFOT).
Experience working with commercial clients in industries such as telecommunications, IT services, or construction.
Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes related to fiber optic network deployment.

Working Conditions
The role may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions and occasionally at heights or in confined spaces. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to accommodate project schedules and deadlines.
