Supply Chain Manager

Partner with commercial and operations leaders to manage suppliers, manufacturing capacity, purchasing, production planning, warehousing and shipping. Ensure an uninterrupted flow of purchased materials, efficient production planning and timely shipment of finished goods.

Key measures include

1. Purchase price variance (PPV)

2. Inventory Turns

3. Target Inventory Levels

4. On-time Delivery

5. Capacity Utilization.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Supply Chain: Ensure warehousing areas are safe, secure and efficiently managed. Work with freight partners and customers to ensure logistics and documentation are effectively managed. Identify opportunities to capture value through the effective management of international freight terms and import/export duties.

Shipping and Receiving: Ensure shipping processes are optimized. Harmonize shipping and receiving standards across all facilities globally.

Planning and Control: Facilitate an effective process to ensure sales and operations planning (S&OP) anticipates future demand with enough lead-time to expand or contract labor and equipment capacity as needed. Drive Materials Requirements Planning standards globally.

Production Scheduling: Establish a method to routinely audit and update routings to ensure accurate time standards. Develop and maintain robust Master Production Schedules (MPS) to effectively plan and schedule production, materials and inventory. Standardize best practices for production scheduling.

Inventory Management: Develop inventory management strategies to maximize inventory turns and reduce the demands on working capital. Establish and monitor standards for safety stock. Establish cycle-counting program to improve inventory accuracy.

Purchasing: Maintain relationships and ensure effective communication with key suppliers. Negotiate pricing suppliers and establish standards to control spending. Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business.

Supplier Relationships: Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.

Management: Establish meeting rhythm to coordinate activities with plant Material Management Leads. Establish effective processes for measuring supply chain performance and routinely report to peers and senior management.

Supports program management: Coordinates work and priorities with program management to support efficient and effective launches of new products and new programs.

PLEX ERP System:Supports the development subject matter and process expertise in PLEX ERP system. Drive standards and educate others to help optimize the utility of the management system. Provide process leadership to purchasing, planning, scheduling and fulfillment. Ensure best practices and standards are documented in the quality system. Provide training and coaching to plant Material Management Leads in order to enhance the quality management system and company expertise.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Production Team Member.
