EyePoint is seeking an energetic and experienced Facilities and Maintenance Manager with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team. This person will be responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance and operation of utility and process systems critical to pharmaceutical manufacturing. This position will play a crucial role in optimizing energy usage and ensuring reliable functioning of equipment and systems. The manager leads a team of technicians, coordinates maintenance activities, manages service providers, develops energy management strategies, and implements initiatives to enhance reliability and team performance.

The ideal candidate possesses the ability to develop credibility and trust as a business partner and leader, to significantly contribute to the company’s growth, productivity, and innovation.

This person will report to the Sr. Director, Facilities and Engineering. This position will be located at our Northbridge, MA facility.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Individual responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and train a team of maintenance technicians in a pharmaceutical environment, focusing on reliability, performance management, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for process and utility systems, coordinate maintenance activities, and conduct regular inspections to optimize performance, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage service agreements and vendors to ensure safe and compliant execution of maintenance and calibrations.
  • Oversee complex troubleshooting and repairs on equipment, analyze system performance data, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Develop/revise standard operation procedures (SOPs) for GMP utility equipment.
  • Implement Change Controls for modifications to GMP equipment. Conduct investigations for deviations related to facility equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external vendors for scheduling repairs, maintenance, and upgrades, manage the maintenance budget effectively, and maintain accurate records of all activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and other applicable industry-specific regulations while prioritizing reliability and performance optimization initiatives.
  • Experience overseeing and operating a wastewater treatment facility (Grade 1)

Qualifications

Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Experience with pharmaceutical utility and process equipment, facilities operation, and validation requirements.
  • Experience with GMP documentation requirements for change controls, deviations/investigations, and equipment qualification
  • Analytical skills to analyze equipment performance and identify optimization.
  • Mechanical skills to trouble shoot equipment and implement repairs.
  • Organizational skills to plan, coordinate, and complete all required maintenance activities.

  • A demonstrated track record of successful cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and relationship building.
  • Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or regulated industry.
  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (including respiratory protection) in the performance of job functions
  • Ability to respond to site emergencies and support the site Emergency Action and Contingency Plan

Level of Education Required:

  • Associates or Bachelor Degree

Preferred Field of Study: Industrial Maintenance, Technology Management, Engineering or related field

Number of Years of Experience in the Function and in the Industry:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a facility maintenance function and at least 2 years supervisory experience.
