Eyediology Eye Care is Hiring an Optician Near Katy, TX

Eyediology Eye Care is a new private practice in the growing Katy/Houston area with an emphasis on creating a culture where patients and team members feel they are part of a family. We are looking for an outgoing and friendly optician. The optician will have a range of responsibilities from selling, fitting, dispensing glasses, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the field. Applicant should have exceptional communication skills, flexibility as the office grows, has the ability to multitask, and most of all the passion to be instrumental in helping to lay the foundation for our growing company.

Candidate Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in optometric field is preferred but not required
  • Great interpersonal and customer service skills
  • The availability to work full time
  • The passion to assist in other tasks that aid in office efficiency and growth of the practice

Job Responsibilities (training will be provided):

  • Ability to sell premium quality glasses and contact lenses
  • Fitting, adjustment, and dispensing glasses
  • To be familiar with our optical inventory and products to provide the most appropriate selections for the patient
  • Edge lenses with in-house optical equipment
  • Answer phones to schedule patients and answer general questions
  • Verify insurances and interpret benefits from a large variety of medical and vision plans
  • Have the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt in a variety of situations
  • Must have the desire and investment in the practice to help with promotion and growth

Compensation depends on experience and skill level.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
