Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Optician/Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess knowledge about eyewear products, including frames, lenses, and accessories, along with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Duties:

- Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with frame selection.

- Receive customers' prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses.

- Measure customers' eyes and faces, such as the distance between their pupils.

- Help customers choose eyeglass frames and lens treatments that best fit their vision needs and lifestyle.

- Performs eyeglass frame adjustments and repairs.

- Verifies lens prescriptions and check for accuracy when we receive them from the lab.

- Process mail deliveries and route frames

- Educate patients about eyewear and show them how to care for it.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on proper use and care.
- Conduct diagnostic tests including checking vital signs and performing visual field testing.
- Support the optometrist in various clinical procedures.

Experience:
- Previous experience in an optical/optometry office is preferred.
- Knowledge of lens material, lens options, measuring of lenses is required.
- Familiarity with retail math for transactions and sales is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient care and retail sales interactions are essential.
