Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometry Technician to join our team. As an Optometry Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting optometrists in providing excellent patient care. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients and work in a dynamic healthcare environment. Experience is not necessary
Duties:
- Assist optometrists with patient examinations and procedures
- Obtain and record patient medical history, including allergies and medications
- Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging
- Prepare patients for contact lens fittings and assist with contact lens insertion and removal
- Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens hygiene.
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and handle administrative tasks as needed
Skills:
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to provide compassionate and attentive service
- Proficient in accurately documenting patient information
- Familiarity with medical coding practices and electronic health record systems a plus
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training as an Optometry Technician is preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
