Job Overview:

The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client processing database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications. Hours typically vary and may include after-hours for emergencies. Compensation is based on experience and skill set.

The Practice Leader is responsible for the general management of the veterinary practice ensuring overall success while meeting benchmarks. In addition to their primary job responsibilities, tasks include reporting, payroll processing, hiring, and employee supervision. Must be available for on-call rotation which may require some hours outside of the open business hours; additional compensation provided for being on call.

Must be someone who likes to work hard and strives to provide excellent customer service. Other qualifications include:

  • Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required
  • Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM and SQ injections
  • Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment
  • Team player
  • Leadership skills
  • Eager to learn and is self-motivated
  • Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task with a smile

Pay Range: Starting pay $25-$33 / hour depending on experience and licensure. Additional compensation for leadership role!
