Job Overview:As an Ophthalmology Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests, preparing patients for examinations, and providing exceptional care to ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

Conduct preliminary eye exams, including measuring visual acuity for both distance and near and performing basic eye tests.

Taking a medical history, ocular history, and recording the chief complaints for the doctor

Assist ophthalmologists with specialized diagnostic procedures, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and OCT imaging.

Instruct and educate patients on eye care procedures, medications, and post-treatment care.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with medical standards and regulations.

Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, patient’s family, and clinical personnel. Includes, but not limited to, maintaining supplies, equipment, and forms, notifying appropriate personnel when cleaning and repair of equipment is needed, following infection control policies, patient safety, and facility safety.

Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications:

Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or equivalent certification preferred.

One (1) year experience in Ophthalmology field (Preferred)

Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and diagnostic procedures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Effective written and oral communication skills

Physical Demands: The physical demands of the position are typical of those found in a traditional office environment. Employees will need to be mobile and move quickly throughout the office. They will need to be able to type and data enter information info computer systems. Employee will need to be able to alternate between sitting and standing at a desk for 8 to 9 hours in a typical workday.
