Ravenscroft is an independent, coeducational day school in Raleigh, NC, with approximately 1,250 students in grades PreK-12.

As a Middle School Math Teacher at Ravenscroft, here is what you get to do:

The experienced teacher should bring energy and curriculum development skills to the Math department by being able to teach effectively and passionately. Other responsibilities and necessary competencies include the following:

• Teaching 5 sections of mathematics, with a willingness to teach all levels in MS
• Advising 10-12 eighth grade students; partnering with families of advisees, monitoring their academic progress, and facilitating advisory curriculum including “Lead from Here”
• Demonstrating cultural competence and the ability to connect with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and families
• Understanding the development of middle school students and possessing a passion for working with this age group
• Connecting with students, challenging them, and shifting pedagogical practice to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Demonstrating effective technology skills, including the ability to use our learning management systems (Canvas and Veracross) and to use graphing calculators and other mathematical tools
• Demonstrating a growth mindset, the ability to give and receive feedback, and willingness to become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive community
• Participating in other aspects of the School community (i.e. athletics, committees)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field; Master’s degree highly desirable; experience teaching Mathematics required.
