Ravenscroft is an independent, coeducational day school in Raleigh, NC, with approximately 1,250 students in grades PreK-12. We are in search of a Head Varsity Baseball Coach who has the experience and knowledge to continue to lead an established JV and Varsity baseball program.

Responsibilities:

• Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
• Develops appropriate training programs and practice schedules.
• Creates and executes game strategy and implements fundamentals.
• Coordinates and implements off-season workouts and strength training sessions for the entire program.
• Works with the Athletic Director to build a competitive and balanced non-conference schedule.
• Collaborates with the AD to hire, evaluate, and support members of the coaching staff for all teams in the program.
• Ensures that proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms and updated inventories are adhered to.
• Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
  • Including end of season Statistical Report submitted to the Athletic Department
• Ensures that proper form(s) (medical) obtained and current.=
• Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away games and ensures appropriate behavior.
• Finalizes roster reports to the Athletic Department and NCISAA (mandated reporting).
• Submits completed injury reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.
• Reports ALL ejections and disqualifications to the Athletic Director.
• Reports ALL game results to the Athletic Office, the Ravenscroft Website, and MaxPreps.
• Supervises student-athletes before, during, and after practices and games.
• Reports problems and situations initially to the Athletic Director.
• Enforces all School policies while at home or on the road.
• Transports athletes to away games using a provided small or large bus.
• Enforces the North Carolina Seat Belt Law.
• Complies with North Carolina speed limits and all other driving laws at all times.

Qualifications:
Must have excellent communication and computer skills, and tact in dealing with students and parents. Must have experience working with adolescents and demonstrate the foresight to assist, lead, and direct the same. Ability to take direction, strong work ethic. Willingness to accept additional job duties; flexibility in work schedule, as needed. Must have or be able to obtain CDL with school bus endorsement (preferred but not required). Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position.
