We offer competitive compensation, discounts for child care, and a behavior support specialist for added classroom support when needed. Our early childhood building is recently renovated and our school age environment is like nothing you’ve seen before based in a vintage railroad station. Both buildings sit on 8-acres with a pool and age-specific playgrounds, so kids have lots of room to move! Beyond that we provide required training and on-going educational opportunities for our staff, use a play based inspired curriculum and emphasize social and emotional development in the classroom.

Pay rate for this position: $15.80 / hr - $18.20 /hr

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Preschool Teacher

• Plan, implement and supervise the program for the class consistent with policies, philosophy and curriculum
• Keep the classroom in compliance with all NYS regulations
• Maintain required documentation
• Gear program to the needs of individual children in concern for their interests, special needs and talents and pace of learning
• Teach proper health care in regards to toileting, nutrition, dental, physical care and cleaning of the children if necessary
• Maintain the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom
• Communicate with parents regarding information concerning their child and their daily activities, and inform the director of any parent concerns
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and conferences

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in ECE, child development or a related field or a Preschool CDA
• At least one year of daycare experience as a teacher and/or assistant in a preschool classroom
• Demonstrate knowledge of NYS child care regulations
• Must be able to get on the floor and play with infants and toddlers as well as lift up to 45 pounds
• Must be a sensitive mature person who is able to relate well to both children and adults
