Essential duties and responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Claims Examiner to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the entire claims process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a dedicated commitment to upholding company policies and procedures. In this dynamic role, your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and assess claims for approval or denial based on policy coverage, investigation findings, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of claims, adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory deadlines.
  • Collaborate with external departments such as insurance and legal, as well as internal departments including customer service, operations, and finance, to resolve complex claims issues and mitigate risk.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance claims processing efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze claims data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform claims management strategies.
  • Create opportunities for career advancement by establishing and leading a dedicated claims department and nurturing a supportive team environment.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, professionalism, and teamwork within the claims department when developing the claims team.
  • Act as a point of escalation for unresolved or sensitive claims issues, demonstrating empathy and diplomacy in customer interactions.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing claims performance, trends, and initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, insurance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in claims examination or a related role. Comparable experience in body shop or estimation work is beneficial, and having both experiences is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles, coverage, and best practices in claims handling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, make informed decisions, and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Dedication to upholding ethical standards, integrity, and maintaining confidentiality.
