What is the Experitec Vantage Point Intern position?

The Vantage Point Intern is a part of the Inside Sales and Solutions Development Team that is responsible for supporting Experitec’s software and IIoT business.Experitec is looking for a self-motivated, energetic candidate who is interested in expanding their working knowledge of informational / operational technologies and automation systems by working alongside the Experitec consultants primarily charged with architecting and designing these solutions for industrial facilities. This position is an opportunity for a college student to amass resume-building experiential by participating in immersive-learning assignments while gaining real-world exposure to the day-to-day operations of a professional engineering operation. Experitec’s clientele encompasses a broad spectrum of the manufacturing and power generation industries, spanning from raw material extraction / processing to finished goods such as refined feedstocks, energy, medicines, food products, building supplies, and consumer goods.

What are the Vantage Point Intern responsibilities?

The Vantage Point Intern will be responsible for providing assistance to various members of the Process Solutions Group in qualifying customer and stakeholder needs and matching appropriate technologies to resolve critical business challenges.Work assignments will be curated to provide visibility across multiple disciplines within Sales and Services, including tasks such as application and proposal reviews, network layouts, facility tours, market research, customer relationship management (CRM) system projects, customer demos, and dashboard prototyping. Through this hands-on experience, the intern will be given opportunities to build upon their knowledge of products, applications, industries, and the sales process required to support key business functions and to further develop their skills and knowledge gained in the classroom.

Specific on-the-job requirements may include:

  • Management and/or coordination of administrative duties.
  • Self-monitored and independent completion of tasks.
  • Proactive communication of progress against deadlines.
  • Team participation in technical projects.
  • Joint customer calls with Experitec sales team members.
  • Vantage point solutions development.
  • Opportunity qualification & management.

Who can do this job? 

Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or in business with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to work efficiently and effectively within a business system.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Analytical and critical thinking.

Other preferred attributes/skills:

  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Good mechanical and flow comprehension.
