Experience Alaska Tours is Hiring a Seasonal Server Near Ketchikan, AK

Experience Alaska Tours is looking for friendly and hard-working serving staff to join our restaurant and tour company in Ketchikan Alaska. At Experience Alaska Tours (EAT), we serve a 3-course standardized meal, including our famous all-you-can-eat Dungeness Crab Feast. We serve large parties of guests that travel here from all over the world.

Our servers play a vital role in what we do, providing our guests with a fun, memorable experience while sharing stories and information about our beautiful corner of Alaska.

Experience dorm-style living with your co-workers while taking advantage of all the amenities our lodge has available. Housing is included in all contracts at no additional cost. After hours or on your day off, you will have access to fishing gear, kayaks, a personal-sized boat, and a campfire area! Our employees get to work and play surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Alaska!

Your Role:

As a server at the George Inlet Lodge, your primary role will be to work with other front of house staff to provide a fun, educational, and extremely filling experience for our guests. While servers do take drink orders and deliver food, it’s also important that our front of staff is upbeat and social, talking with guests and sharing information about the lodge and surrounding area. We regularly seat meals with 100 guests at a time, so it’s important that servers are open to talking in front of large groups.

Restaurant experience is *not* required! We provide in-depth training on serving, crab shucking, and presentation skills here on-site. Come ready to work and learn and we’ll take care of the rest.

Duties Include:

  • Learn our short skit to provide an informative and entertaining tour to dining guests.
  • Provide a fun and enjoyable experience for our guests in one of our banquet-style dining rooms.
  • Open and prepare dining rooms for first meals, preparing glassware, silverware, and linens.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure that food is delivered to guests promptly and to correct any issues with meals.
  • Take and deliver drink orders, checking patron identification as required.
  • Assist with dishwashing, gift shop, laundry, and other duties when requested.

Requirements:

  • Alaska Food Handlers Certification
  • TAPS Certification (We provide access to a TAPS class and testing on site.)
  • Legally able to serve alcohol
  • Background check
  • Must pass a drug test
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods without breaks. The lodge is a very active workplace and you will get your steps in
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 35lbs.
  • Must have great time management skills
  • Must be a team player, able to work and live with your coworkers
