Job Description Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Reporting directly to the Director of Rehab, this compassionate, licensed and technically savvy individual delivers the best possible service by providing coordinated physical therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. Position FunctionsAdministers the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical TherapistUtilize evidence-based pathways to optimize careAdministers non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to patientsApplies concepts of infections control and universal precautions in performing patient care activitiesAccepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patientsUses effective interpersonal relations and communication skillsMeets mandatory continuing education requirementsPromotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessaryDemonstrates commitment, professional growth and competency QualificationsSoft Skill RequirementsExcellent communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to use discretion concerning sensitive information and adhere to HIPAA.Caring and compassionate attitudeAbility to work on own initiative within clearly defined parameters.Ability to carry out designated tasks including reporting outcome of actions taken.Good organizational and time-management skills.
