Sanctions Compliance Support Specialist (US - Contract)

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$23.00/hr

Onsite/Remote:

  • Fully onsite training for the first 4 weeks (Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Hybrid schedule after training is completed:
  • Sunday - Thursday OR Tuesday - Saturday; 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday plus at least one other day must be worked in office
  • One week per quarter everyone is required to work from the office

This is a small but continuously growing team passionate about maintaining Expedia's compliance to US and international sanctions regulations. We are a team with various strengths that work closely with other teams and departments as well as with customers and external partners. We want individuals who are excited to work in a constantly evolving field that has a direct impact on the business. We operate in a risk based environment and the individuals filling this role will be vital in helping us handle that risk. We are Expedia's first line of defense against these types of risk. As sanctions support you will examine potential matches against various regulatory sanctions lists preventing reputational damage or fines. You will also help resolve potential issues between regulatory requirements and customer impacts. This team is highly dynamic and values the individual contributions and difference each person brings to the team!

Responsibilities of the Sanctions Compliance Support Specialist:

  • Accurately and efficiently review and resolve assigned cases using established policies and procedures
  • Review and evaluate transaction information and compare it against known risk flags
  • Escalate risky or complex cases using established guidelines
  • Review identified quality errors for needed corrections and update associated cases with corrected information
  • Adhere to established productivity and quality metrics

Qualifications of the Sanctions Compliance Support Specialist:

  • Customer Service, Banking, Operations, or Financial experience preferred
  • Proficiency in standard office applications like Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to extract meaningful insights, identify patterns, and make informed decisions based on a limited amount of information
  • Willingness to learn how to conduct regulatory research using available tools and resources
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and adaptable
  • Comfortable communicating with other teams/departments and external clients and customers
  • Self-motivator with an eye for detail and ability to interpret complex information
  • Forward thinking approach as sanctions is an ever evolving department
  • Capable of articulating ideas and thought processes through documentation

Please note contractors are engaged to provide services to Expedia Group on a temporary basis in connection with a specific assignment. Contractors are hired and employed through Atrium, our third-party payrolling partner.

This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at Expedia. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
