Truck Mechanic/Truck Driver/Equipment Operator

Position Summary:

Exeter Township is seeking an experienced, reliable individual who would be responsible for servicing the Township fleet by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all vehicles and equipment.

General Duties:

• Maintain and repair Township vehicles and heavy equipment by performing but not limited to the below duties;

• • Perform periodic routine maintenance.
  • Repair mechanical systems.
  • Perform minor body repairs.
  • Change and repair tires.
  • Schedule vehicles for regular periodic maintenance and keep maintenance records.
  • Keep mileage and inventory records.
  • Order replacement parts, supplies, fluids, etc.

• Perform PA State Inspections and emissions on all Township vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Work with paving crew (when needed)
• Snow and Ice Control (when needed)

• • Plow roads
  • Load salt/cinder truck
  • Apply salt/cinders as instructed.
  • Remove snow from entranceways, sidewalks and parking areas at Township owned buildings as needed.

• General cleaning and washing of vehicles and equipment.
• General clean-up of garage and work areas
• Light carpentry work
• Move heavy boxes or equipment and large bulky objects.

• Perform other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Working Conditions:

• This position regularly works indoors, in shops with good ventilation, lighting, and heat.
• This position may work in all types of outside weather conditions while completing repairs.
• Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Minimum Requirements:

• Three (3) years of experience in automobile or equipment repair.
• Must have a PA State Inspection and Emission License class S7.
• Must hold a valid Class A or B, PA commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
