Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Coordinator
Job Description
The MTSS Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. They will oversee the implementation of the essential elements of MTSS within the Stratham Memorial School. They will be responsible for collaborating closely with building administrators, educators, support staff, families, and students to establish, implement, and continuously improve the essential elements of MTSS. The Coordinator will promote the use of research-based practices and data-based decision making to meet the needs of each and every student through academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL) instruction, interventions, and supports. They will ensure that MTSS is in place to support student achievement through a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning.
Assessment and Data Analysis: Coordinate the collection and analysis of student data to identify academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs, using screeners, various formative and summative assessment tools and standardized tests as appropriate.
Tiered Intervention Planning: Collaborate with educators, administrators, and support staff to develop tiered intervention plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
Professional Development: Facilitate professional development sessions for teachers and staff on MTSS principles, strategies, and best practices to ensure fidelity of implementation across all tiers, including professional resources and curriculum.
Progress Monitoring: Establish systems for ongoing progress monitoring to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven decisions about student needs and interventions adjustments.
Summer Learning Academy (SLA) Coordinator: Organize, facilitate, and monitor SLA, utilizing student data to develop plans and to evaluate programming.
Parent and Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with parents, families, and community stakeholders to support student success within the MTSS framework, including providing resources, workshops, and information sessions.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work collaboratively with other school/district personnel, such as special education coordinators, counselors, and psychologists, to ensure alignment of support services and resources within the MTSS framework.
Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student interventions, progress monitoring data, and outcomes, and prepare reports to communicate progress and effectiveness of the MTSS program to stakeholders. Investigate, research and implement new technologies that will assist in data collection and analysis, as available.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with research, trends, and best practices related to MTSS and evidence-based interventions, and use this knowledge to continuously improve the MTSS program and practices.
Compliance and Accountability: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to MTSS and student support services, and participate in program evaluation and accountability measures as required.
