POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for all maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimum up-time and maximum efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform all preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment is continually kept operational at optimal levels.
• Diagnose equipment problems including analyzing electrical diagrams and other information.
• Work closely with Operations management to achieve desired efficiency goals and scheduling of preventative maintenance
• Document spare parts usage and equipment repairs according to procedure.
• Care for and treat tools, manuals, equipment, supplies, etc. with extraordinary care.
• Continually improve understanding of production equipment mechanically and electrically.
• Assist with installation of new gear
• Facilitate best practice/ knowledge sharing with operations staff to increase operator efficiency

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-4 years of mechanics and electrical experience; experience with technology driven equipment.
• Experience with use of hand and power tools, electronic test equipment and solder.
• Knowledge of and experience with enveloping equipment; Pitney Bowes highly desired.
• Electronic trade school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have strong diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and to work with minimum supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Travel up to 10% may be required.
• Ability to stoop, crawl and contort for gaining access to equipment components and to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long continuous periods of time.
• Use of electronic equipment, including computers and telephones, for extended periods of time.
