Requirements for Site Safety and Health Officer - (SSHO)

  • Must have five (5) years working as a Safety Manager
  • Must have five (5) years of Quality Control (QC) experience in a healthcare setting. Three (3) to Five (5) Year of experience in the Medical Health Care / Hospital Environment
  • Experience includes direct engagement of one (1) full TJC (The Joint Commission) surveys in a major hospital facility.
  • Must meet the administrative, educational, experience and training requirements cited in the EM-385-1-1, including the OSHA 30-hour course.
  • Certifications: Preferred: Certified Health Care Facilities Management (CHFM) Highly desirable
  • Must be able to pass a Security Background Check and Drug Test
  • Must be US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS); Injury Compliance; CPR and First Aid Certified; OSHA Standards; Health and Safety Management; Risk Assessment Management and Analysis; Hazardous Waste; Environmental Compliance, Local, State & Federal Regulatory Compliance.

Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards. EHS Leadership in a Manufacturing Environment. Effective Verbal & Written Communication. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Career Opportunity For Site Safety and Health Officer - (SSHO)

  • The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and health on the job sites.
  • The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Perform Quality Control (QC)and Safety Inspections and report results into computerized maintenance management system and on monthly Reports.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and address any safety concerns. Performs work order inspections as specified. Monitors the performance of all Quality Control (QC) and Site Safety activities including work order quality inspections (scheduled and random) documented in the Quality Control (QC) program.
  • Conduct Safety and Quality Training as required and as needs are identified. Provide safety training for employees, including new hire orientation, refresher training, and specialized training as needed.
  • Develops, implements, and assures that all staff and subcontractors adhere to the Site Safety & Health Plan requirements.
  • Maintain records of all safety training and ensure that all employees are up-to-date on required training.
  • Incident investigation and reporting and make recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure that all safety requirements are met on job sites. Regularly visit work areas checking for adherence and any safety violations or work that is not being performed or safety regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on all applicable safety regulations and standards and ensure compliance with these requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees and management.
  • This includes developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety inspections and audits, and providing safety training for employees.
  • You will have overall responsibility for the Quality Control (QC) Management and Site Safety Program.
  • Reports directly to the PM/CA and indirectly with the Corporate QC Director and Safety Officer.
  • Shall monitor the performance of the Quality Control (QC) and Site Safety Program activities in all other work centers.
  • Shall provide remedial training as necessary to the responsible personnel.
  • Submit Monthly Record of Work-Related Injuries and Exposure.
  • Has full authority to act on Quality and Safety matters relating to daily operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the safety management program and shall be responsible for all aspects of the management and administration of the program.
  • Will attain/maintain Environmental Compliance Officer certification.
  • Will assist with and direct labor force for the completion of IJOs.
