ExcelHealth Group LLC is Hiring a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) - Traveling | Mobile Dental Clinic (FL) Near Jacksonville, FL

Marquis Mobile Dental Services, and its management company, ExcelHealth Group, LLC, is seeking to fill an exciting and fulfilling traveling dental assistant position. MMDS is a dental company providing comprehensive dental care for residents of long-term care facilities. Our services are delivered via state-of-the-art mobile dental clinics which arrive onsite each day at a different nursing home.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in both the dental and long-term care industries. Each clinic provides a small, inviting environment creating a safe space to deliver great care and on-the-job training experience.

Travel Frequency: Four (4) to five (5) days per week throughout the designated area which can include drives several hours out.

Overnight Stays: This position frequently requires travel with overnight stays three (3) to four (4) nights per week.

Travel Team: Includes a clinic manager, a certified dental assistant, and a patient transporter.

Transportation: The clinic staff typically meets at a local designated location/launch site and travel together in a company vehicle as a team of three. The dentist generally arrives separately to the facilities.

Requirements:

  • This position requires an existing dental assistant certification through a Florida Board of Dentistry approved dental assisting school or program or equivalent experience to include being state-certified as a dental radiographer by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH).
  • As needed, may help to safely transport residents in wheelchairs and geriatric chairs to and from the nursing facility to the dental clinic which is typically parked right outside of the building in the parking lot.
  • Input of patient treatment notes into a proprietary software program.
  • Selecting and setting up instruments, equipment and material needed for the dentist to properly treat patients.
  • Sterilizing instruments according to in-house policy and procedures and government or industry regulation.
  • Must pay attention to detail and maintain a well-organized and reliable treatment environment.
  • Possessing a desire to work with nursing home residents.
  • Demonstrating concern for the patient’s well-being and an understanding of cultural sensitivity.
  • Willingness and ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with facility staff and elderly patients.
  • Assisting with clinic maintenance, cleaning, and sterilizing procedures.
  • Punctuality and attentiveness to schedules and procedures.
  • Flexibility with schedule.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the designated meeting/launch site.

Compensation:

  • Transportation, overnight hotel, and daily meal budget for travel directly tied to overnight stays are covered when traveling for company business.
  • Paid windshield/traveling time
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Annual scrub allowance
  • FLSA status: hourly, non-exempt

Employment Contingencies:

All employees who have direct patient access are subject to a background check and drug screening. Unacceptable results will exclude an applicant from employment. This also includes an in-person fingerprinting for the thorough FL Level 2 process.
