Warehouse - Shipping and Receiving

Summary of Responsibilities : Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near warehouse or worksite. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to determine which materials or containers to be moved.

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or by forklift. Conveys materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas, using hand truck or power device.

Adheres to designated procedures and work instructions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES may include but are not limited to the following :

• Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Fills orders for customer in a timely manner. Prepares next day’s order the previous business day.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information using labeling machine provided by Inventory Management System.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Uses computer to enter records via Inventory Management System.
• Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse and picks up items from several locations for shipment.
• Prepares parcels for UPS mailing.
• Maintains inventory records.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
• Inserts items into containers.
• Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
• Stamps, stencils or prints identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forklifts, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. Lifting 50lbs.
• Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Seeking experience with shipping and receiving
• Forklift experience / certificate preferred
• Good math and computer skills
• Must be able to lift 50lbs independently

Schedule :

Monday - Friday, 8am to 4 : 30pm with overtime if / as needed

Pay :

$20.00 / hr to $22.00 / hr, DOE
