Warehouse - Shipping and Receiving / Sales Representative

POSITION PURPOSE

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near warehouse or worksite. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or forklift. Conveys materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas, using hand truck or power device.

Additionally, handles the more technical or complex service questions from customers and applies judgment in resolving service, warranty, or technical problems falling within established limits of authority and knowledge.

Issues of greater impact or technical complexity are researched and presented to management or referred to the appropriate internal experts for resolution.

Adheres to designated procedures and work instructions created and signed off on. Will provide excellent customer service including soliciting new sales and upselling to current customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Solicits sale of new or additional services.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Reaches out to customers on a regular basis and explores potential customers and reaches out to them as well.
• Talks with customers by email, phone, or in person and receives orders.
• Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
• Enters sales orders in Inventory Management System or service contract for products.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to assembly line.
• Fills orders for customer in a timely manner. Prepares next day’s order the previous business day.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information using labeling machine provided by Inventory Management System.
• Opens boxes and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed through Inventory Management System.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Uses computer to enter records via Inventory Management System.
• Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse and picks up items from several locations for shipment.
• Prepares parcels for UPS mailing.
• Maintains inventory records.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
• Inserts items into containers.
• Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal or plastic tape.
• Stamps, stencils or prints identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Seeking experience with shipping and receiving
• Forklift experience / certificate preferred
• Good math and computer skills
• Excellent customer service skills needed - prefer some sales related experience
• Must be able to lift 50lbs independently

Schedule :

Monday - Friday, 8am to 4 : 30pm with overtime if / as needed

Pay :

$20.00 / hr to $22.00 / hr, DOE
