Excel Healthcare is Hiring a Weekend Supervisor Near Overland Park, KS

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists Nursing Supervisor in responsibility for total resident care for the assigned wing or wings of residents following established facility policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, and nursing standards of practice. Performs any or all professional nursing duties as determined by qualifications and training. Performs non-professional nursing duties as necessary. Maintains quality resident care in compliance with established policies and procedures, Resident Bill of Rights and resident care policies. Sets an example for professionals/non-professionals in areas of general hygiene, resident approach, and activities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Essential Functions are the fundamental duties of this position. The employee holding this position must be able to perform these tasks satisfactorily.

  • An ability to be physically present onsite.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Record patients' medical information, and vital signs.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs.
  • Immediately reports all bruises or skin tears of an unknown origin.
  • Immediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect of a residen.t
  • .Treats all resident information confidentially

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Additional Responsibilities are marginaltasks that the employee may be asked to perform from time to time. The employee will be expected to complete these tasks when instructed by a Supervisor even though they may not be central to the position itself.

  • Follows and upholds the Resident Bill of Rights and facility policies and procedures.
  • Works in cooperation with other services for complete care of residents.
  • Attends meetings and in-services as deemed appropriate.
  • Practices good safety habits and infection control habits.
  • Responsible for resident and family teaching.
  • Makes pastoral and social service referrals as necessary.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Current driver's license from the applicable state.
  • RN or LPN current license with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Knowledge of rehab nursing.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertinent to nursing care.
  • Capable of meeting the physical and other demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
