Excel Eye Center is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Provo, UT

Job Type: This is a full-time position

We are looking for a Technician that can work in our Utah County locations.

At Excel Eye Center, we perform comprehensive eye exams using the most advanced and precise equipment. We are eye care professionals committed to providing the highest quality service and personal care.

Ophthalmic Technicians work with our eye doctors to provide patient care by performing many different eye-related clinical functions. Ophthalmic assistants help care for patients by taking histories, performing various procedures and tests, and preparing patients to see the doctor. Their work provides the ophthalmologist with important information to help diagnose and treat patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking patient medical histories
  • Instructing patients about medications, tests, and procedures
  • Performing various vision and diagnostic tests
  • Assisting ophthalmologists with patient procedures
  • Coordinating patient scheduling
  • Training other ophthalmic assistants
  • Clean and organize rooms and instruments
  • Assist staff members as needed
  • Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of safety precautions and infection control procedures
  • Understanding of good body mechanics to avoid injury
  • 2 year commitment required

Skills/Abilities:

  • Good communication skills
  • Attentive and self-directed
  • Able to use all related medical equipment, instruments, and computer applications
  • Positive interpersonal skills and sensitivity

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00-$22.00
