Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct care to patients following each patients’ Comprehensive Care Plan. The Registered Nurse reports to the Unit Manager on duty and works dynamically within an interprofessional team of medical professionals. Their primary duties focus on administering patient care and monitoring patient condition.

Responsibilities

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents.
• Administers medications and treatments to patients.
• Monitors patient conditions and records appropriate findings in patient medical records.
• Promotes an environment of compassion by promoting emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
• Provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Performs wound care.
• Prepares patients for medical exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Assists medical team with medical procedures.
• Operates medical equipment.
• Performs specimen collection for laboratory testing.
• Educates patients about treatment plans.
• Follows the facility's policies and procedures.
• Documents actions in accordance with facility record keeping standards.
• Observes Resident Rights and keeps patient information confidential.

Skills and Experience

• Current, valid RN state license
• A nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
• One (1) year of nursing experience (Preferred).
• Geriatric, Hospice & Palliative, and/or Long-term Care experience (Preferred).
• Tracheostomy care.
• IV Skills including inclusive, central, PICC, midline, blood draws, and TPN.
• Wound Care.
• Medication and side effect monitoring.
• Sympathetic bedside manner.
• Ability to multitask and work integratively within a team.
• Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
• Hospice & Palliative, and/or Long-term Care experience (Preferred).
• Skilled at tackling numerous tasks and makes quick decisions
• Can foster good resident and family relationships
• Ability to effectively collaborate within a team environment
• A passion for working with elderly residents in a caring, compassionate manner

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening and physical examination.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
• Current BLS/CPR training with card
