Position Overview

As a valuable member of the Strategic Contracting Team, the Sr. Strategic Contracts Analyst will support the review and negotiation of complex contracts, as assigned, in addition to analytical and procedural support to internal customers and external vendors, including international vendors. This role is key to managing contracts in alignment with supply chain and business strategies and goals. This position requires the ability to multi-task and pay strong attention to detail in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with supply chain professionals, legal and business teams to draft, review and negotiate a variety of standard and complex commercial agreements (including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), statements of work (SOWs), master services agreements (MSAs), and supply agreements) with vendors and customers.
  • Present and explain contract terms and conditions to supply chain, business teams and external third parties, as required.
  • Act as a knowledge resource to the supply chain and functional business teams regarding current contracting policies and processes.
  • Provide contract management systems super-user skillset to generate reports and analyze data.
  • Manage projects and workload with minimal direction to meet internal guidelines and deadlines.
  • Interpret complex contracts and interface with vendors, including international vendors, and third parties on contract issues.
  • Partner closely with sourcing, category management and/or legal to ensure proper contracting escalation throughout review process and obtain all other required internal review and approvals for contract terms and provisions.
  • Collaborate with internal due diligence partners on internal contract reviews as needed and partner with them on process improvements as applicable.
  • Assist in efforts to improve current processes and effectiveness of the operational contracting team.

  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in any field.
  • 5 years' experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • 7 years of direct experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working with Category Management and/or Legal Teams.
  • Biotech or Life Science industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Coupa CLM System or similar CLM system.

Salary Range:

$85,000.00 - $135,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
