Job Summary In the role of Systems Tester, you will be a part of the team that is involved in the full Hardware System Engineering and Field Support life cycle of multiple projects. Responsibilities:
Learn and Monitor NAS system and software and FAA procedural requirements when providing STARS System Engineering and Field Support, testing and interface of software and computer systems
Gather data for Facility Reference Data (FRD). Load software, firmware, adaptation and configuration
Ascertain user requirements, perform system-wide analysis and functional allocations
Help generate trip reports, SSM from hardware system leads
Collect data from field support calls
Qualifications:
B.S. of Computer Science, Math, or related technical field and seven (7) years of related work experience with computer science or math OR
Master’s Degree in any field and five (5) years of related work experience in computer science or math
Technical Proficiencies:
Experience with network analysis, that uses different network analysis tools set to resolve network issues in a Large Network; some SNMP date analysis, with Radar and detections
Experience supporting data reduction and analysis
Experience in a variety of basic computer skills and the ability to learn tasks related to FAA Tech Ops/Air Traffic Controller functions
Basic networking skills (how routers/switches/hubs work together)
Ability to understand the high level architecture of STARS (Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System) and CARTS (Common Automated Radar Terminal Systems
Basic understanding of electronic component installation and wiring
Scheduling/organizational skills
This position requires work to be performed at the William J Hughes Technical Center and may require travel up to 25% of the time to airport locations around the USA when scheduling dictates or at management discretion. Requires ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds for removal and disposition of old equipment and installation of new equipment.
