JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for the execution of engineering deliverables for reactors, rotating and static equipment, as well as specialty equipment. In addition to this the person will work closely with the pipe design group and complete pipe stress analysis for project. The position will report to the Head of Civil, Piping, and Equipment Engineering group of the Process Technology & Engineering North America
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and leading equipment engineering discipline staff executing medium to large engineering projects.
- Oversee engineering contractors on large capital projects.
- Establishing high standards, monitoring, providing feedback and improving performance to maintain a highly efficient and motivated workforce.
- Using critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to guide development of the department and staff.
- Advocating for multi-disciplinary approaches to improve results of large capital projects.
- Ensuring effective communication and progress reporting with stakeholders on all projects.
- Managing single-discipline projects to meet cost, schedule and quality objectives.
- Mentoring and training junior engineers and designers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering - (Mechanical preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in an industrial environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Equipment Lead on capital projects
- Strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with COMPRESS or similar software
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- EIT Certification or must be able to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Master's or greater degree in engineering - (Mechanical preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 10 years or more of engineering experience in an industrial environment
- 5 years or more of experience as Equipment Lead on capital projects
- Experience in Petrochemical, Specialty Chemicals, Pulp and Paper, Pharmaceutical or Power Industries
- Experience with CAESAR or similar pipe stress analysis software
- Proven track record of setting targets, executing plans, and delivering results
