Job Summary:

The Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and department outcomes. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

What you will do in this role:

· You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients

· You will manage efficient flow of patient care including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care and comfort, and arranging for admissions, testing and discharges

· You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results

· You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders

· You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans

· You will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)

Qualifications:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license

• ACLS (must be AHA)

• BLS (must be AHA)

• Must have COVID vaccination

• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; Medical Surgical setting

• Proficient computer skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of team

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals

• Must be able to pick up a minimum of 1 shift a month ***

Education:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Experience with using everyday technology tools (e.g, email, Microsoft Office, voicemail, internet/intranet to access, organize and store job-related information. EMR.
