This will be overnight shift. Schedule range: 38-50 hours (with 1.5 pay for OT)
As a Recovery Specialist, you play a direct role in saving the lives of our patients each day by providing and promoting an environment of long-term recovery. You will partner with the Clinical Director and Program Director to establish and maintain a therapeutic environment and routine for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support to individuals with mental health challenges
- Administer medication (medication administration training can be provided)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Assist individuals in navigating the mental health system and accessing appropriate resources and services
- Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with mental health challenges
- Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist (CPRS/RPRS) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Lived experience with substance abuse challenges and demonstrated ability to effectively manage personal recovery
- Knowledge of mental health systems, resources, and community supports
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with individuals receiving services
- Understanding of motivational interviewing techniques and ability to apply them in practice
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
