Job Overview for Physical Therapist Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Physical Therapist Assistant in Columbus and the surrounding areas to join our patient rehabilitation team and provide therapy services to patients in their primary residence. The right candidate is a patient, compassionate professional who encourages and inspires their patients to work toward greater independence and recovery.

Responsibilities for Physical Therapist Assistant

• Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with the APTA standards of practice as well as state standards.
• Treat patients to relive pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, functional training, and transfer activities.
• Utilizes physical agents such as heat, cold, water, light, ultrasound and massage.
• Maintains necessary records and clinical notes to be incorporated into patient’s clinical record.

Qualifications for Physical Therapist Assistant

• Proven record of treating patients with direct physical therapy care.
• Basic understanding of physical therapy and medical terminology.
• Experience with a wide range of patient age groups and injuries.
• A strong sense of empathy, a compassionate outlook on PT and the ability to motivate patients into pushing their limits in a responsible, safe way.

Experience and Education for Physical Therapist

• Experience in providing direct physical therapy to patients in a residential setting or similar environment.
  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant license for the state of operation.
