Everstaff is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for our client in Aurora, IL. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible to develop thorough knowledge in the design, implementation, operation and support of specific business applications and/or supporting technologies to deliver improved business performance. The day-to-day activity of the Business Systems Analyst demonstrates an IT culture that emphasizes quality, responsiveness, customer service, productivity, high standards and results. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for partnering with business owners and end users throughout the company to deliver superior results. The position reports to the Director, Information Technology and maintains open and unbiased communication to ensure the objectives, scope and timeline of projects are maintained and issues surfaced as appropriate.

Compensation up to $85k; depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to the company's culture and business mission by prioritizing the well-being of the company's personnel and its clientele.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Information Technology and business stakeholders to formulate ambitious IT objectives aligning with the company's vision.
  • Foster a deep understanding of applications, business processes, and technologies pertinent to your domain, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with IT vendors and assess alternatives to maximize value for the company.
  • Strategize project lifecycles, encompassing design, configuration/development, validation, testing, support, and enhancement.
  • Define project tasks and resource needs meticulously for precise, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Participate in internal/external IT security audits and risk assessments, implementing necessary measures.
  • Manage and address Help Desk inquiries within your area of responsibility promptly.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to decipher, refine, and surpass requirements, delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Empower end users to optimize productivity and business performance by leveraging existing IT resources effectively.
  • Assess and refine business and IT processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Create and uphold documentation to meet internal and external standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment rooted in respect, honesty, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain workspaces in accordance with 5S standards and policies.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability to address critical business and IT issues.
  • Uphold safety and security protocols, utilizing equipment and materials responsibly.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities or projects as assigned by management.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in developing and/or supporting EDI solutions, preferably integrated with JD Edwards ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with EDI translation software, preferably EXTOL, and adeptness in SQL for end-to-end EDI processes.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2008 and/or 2012.
  • Thorough understanding of EDI transactions (e.g., 810, 850, 855, 856) and communication protocols (e.g., AS2, FTP) including trading partner setup.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, driving projects towards objectives with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and information exchange both internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset, adaptable to evolving business requirements while ensuring reliable IT solutions and services.
  • Punctual, attentive to instructions, responsive to management feedback, and committed to consistent performance.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (SKAs):

  • Comprehensive understanding of business applications within your purview and other relevant solutions.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication across all organizational levels.
  • Effective organization and prioritization of tasks.
  • Concurrent management and delivery of multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as necessary.

Education and Training:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
