Our Team:
We have an exciting new role to join the Transmission Policy Team. We are hiring for an Policy Analyst located in Hartford, CT. This role under general supervision, analyzes federal (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and state policy proposals for their impact on Eversource and our customers. Develops recommended policy positions, work with internal stakeholders to reach consensus on strategy, and implements strategies to gain regulator and stakeholder support.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes federal (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and state policy proposals for their impact on Eversource and our customers
Develops recommended policy positions, works with internal stakeholders to reach consensus on strategy
Develops analytical products, visualizations, research, and other advocacy materials to support policy recommendations and outreach
Tracks the status of regulatory proceedings affecting transmission across multiple jurisdictions. Reports to management periodically on the status of these proceedings.
Scrutinizes technical reports related to the operational and economic impact of clean energy resources on the electric transmission and distribution systems in New England.
Supports outreach and advocacy to external stakeholders
Technical Knowledge/Skills
Understanding of state and federal utility industry regulation
Knowledge and experience with ISO/RTO processes and FERC open access transmission tariffs preferred.
Understanding of economic theory and wholesale electricity markets
Demonstrates competency and proficiency in oral and written communications
Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to apply knowledge to solve problems and strong team building skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, related field or equivalent relevant experience
Experience:
3 to 5 years of related experience
Compensation & Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $84,340 - $93,710 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for a fill list of benefits.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
Must be available for travel between MA/CT/NH on an approximately monthly basis
Our hybrid working schedule is first 90 days are in the office and then hybrid.
