THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to support patient advocacy for the assigned program. The Advocate
partners with the client’s Sales teams to help educate and raise awareness among health care providers on
available services and treatment choices. The Advocate also works with internal teams to help resolve
patient issues, assist with training and often provides education and support to newly diagnosed patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These results are achieved by:
Manage assigned territory by collaborating with the Sales team to meet with key physicians and
other healthcare professionals, promote the value of the Service Model, increase disease
awareness and promote screening according to disease specific guidelines.
Provide one on one support for newly diagnosed patients as needed
Follow HIPPA security policies and procedures

Attend patient group meetings, conferences and events
Provide support with patient or provider issues that arise
All other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:
Assist in developing and providing training with both the internal and client sales teams
Foster ongoing client relationships by traveling with Client Sales Force, meeting their healthcare
provider-customers and personalize the disease by sharing their experience
Provide first dose update and review of completed patient onboarding to Sales Representatives
Maintain and strengthen relationships with patient “not for profit” organizations
Contact new patients as necessary as an adjunct to the enrollment process
Communicate all issues/concerns/escalations/successes to the Advocate Manager
Identify opportunities for program improvement, including soliciting patient and client feedback
Travel 40- 60% for field work with client Sales force, patient events and appropriate other
conferences and meetings

abilities required.
High School diploma or GED
2 years patient advocacy experience
Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation skills
Ability to have a conversation about the disease state issues with healthcare professionals
Understanding of the disease state and it’s impacts
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Currently considered a patient advocate with a positive reputation in the community
A working knowledge of reimbursement and the associated issues

This role requires mental alertness. The employee must regularly communicate both verbally and written;

The position involves overnight and weekend travel; travel in all seasons in all weather. The working
environment will most often be in and out of physician offices, hospitals, in large meetings and conferences;
