Job Description:

Evergreen Prosthetics and Orthotics is looking for a Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician in the Federal Way, Washington. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant field experience.

The Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician supports the Prosthetists and Orthotists in providing care to patients with partial or total absence of a limb by fabricating prostheses, orthoses, and their components. Under the guidance and with the consultation of the Prosthetist/Orthotist, the technician creates positive molds resulting in maximum fit, function, cosmetics, and workmanship. The technician also repairs and maintains the prosthetic and orthotic devices. The technician is expected to keep abreast of all new fabricating techniques and equipment.

Essential functions and duties of the technician:

Orthotic and Prosthetic Technicians are expected to perform all duties listed below.

• Provide support to the Orthotist/Prosthetist in providing care to patients
• Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to company quality and quantity standards
• Working throughout the lab and clinic, including but not limited to all fabrication rooms and possibly within patient rooms
• Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned
• Maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working order
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
• Perform quarterly maintenance check and documentation of laboratory equipment
• Contact vendors to order orthotic fabrication materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication process
• Perform other related duties as required

Required skills and abilities:

• Utilize proper body mechanics for moving and/or lifting items weighing up to or around 50 pounds
• Great hand skills
• Very driven and always looking for tasks to complete.
• Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
• Effective organizational, time management and planning skills.
• Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Pay Based on experience - $18.00 - $24.00 per hour; this position may be subject to a pre-employment drug screening
