SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse, with appropriate competency completions, is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of all patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing rehabilitation diagnosis and/or wound care needs. The RN is also responsible for the overall direction and supervision of all patient care during his/her shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to carry out the nursing process when providing patient care. Satisfies the established standards of the nursing practice. Supervises and delegates patient care tasks to CNA and other patient care team members. Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. As appropriate, the registered nurse takes into consideration the patients’ age in the performance of any task.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Graduate from a school of professional nursing. Associate degree in nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
License/Certification
Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association. If not certified in ACLS at time of hire, employee must become certified within 30 days of employment. License and certifications must be maintained throughout employment. CRRN certification preferred.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient healthcare setting is required. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements, and hospital policies and procedures. Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions such as order entry, data input. Skilled in the usage of and able to learn other models of the Electronic Health Record/Electronic Medical Record (EHR/EMR) etc. Ability to project a professional image.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Participates in or conducts company-wide sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of patient’s protected health information. Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and Accreditation Standards.
