The candidate will provide results-oriented guidance in modernizing the pricing applications, resolving system issues, delivering modifications and enhancements. They will closely communicate and coordinate with business partners in prioritization of work to ensure timely resolution of issues and enhancements, while ensuring changes are in line with the Global system template. Additionally, they will ensure process controls are followed and documented properly to ensure system stability, performance, and functionality. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Build and implement complex, large-scale high performing pricing applications capable of integrating with multiple internal/external systems. Lead & Mentor a team of software engineers to build quality software solutions aligned to architecture guidelines. Engage in and lead development efforts across the full SDLC from design and coding through test, QA, deployment, and maintenance. Leverage experience with cloud infrastructure to build cloud-based software solutions and support the applications on Cloud. Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and convert into technical stories and software solutions. Develop proofs of concept (POCs) with new technology stack and implement well-designed, high performing, scalable, and testable code. Serve as technical lead for team of Engineers and make sure they have what is needed to perform their jobs, manage their work, motivate them to perform their duties well, and monitor performance. Conduct code reviews, guide engineers to how to refactor code to ensure optimized, fully functional applications. Partner with architects in implementation of appropriate digital solution architecture governance processes and tools while maintaining a key focus on design patterns and technology standards reuse Define and manage repository of digital architecture assets (APIs, Services) and coordinate effective reuse across the digital enterprise Explore and evaluate new /open source technologies for use within the digital enterprise to foster innovation and influence speed to market Qualifications, Education & Experience: 16 years of hands-on, full-stack development experience building end to end software applications utilizing the Microsoft technology stack: C#, .Net Core, .NET Framework, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, XML, XSLT, Entity Framework, LINQ, Microservices, Single Page Application - Angular, React. Reinsurance or Insurance background required; experience in implementing underwriting or pricing applications Deep understanding and solid experience of SQL Server, Cosmos DB, including database design models, database performance optimization and the ability to develop and maintain PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Functions in SQL Server Previous experience with cloud solutions (Azure preferred) along with experience configuring Dev-Ops / continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins and/or Maven. Experience in building scalable and high performing applications with large data sets involving actuarial models. Demonstrated experience developing REST based APIs using Microservice architecture, Open API Specification and/or creating specifications w/Swagger Previous experience with Integration Architectures from API Mediation to Event Bus models Knowledge of messaging queue tools such as MQ and Kafka Experience with Python and VBA scripting preferred. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Certification in Azure Experience with other cloud providers Experience with Docker and containerization Knowledge of networking and security principles VBA & Python scripting preferred.
