FIELD/ DEMOLITION TECHNICIANS:
The demolition technician performs tasks involving physical labor at commercial and residential projects. The position may operate a variety of hand tools, power tools and remediation equipment including but not limited to negative air machines, dehumidifiers, fogging machines, etc.. Some of the job duties include but are not limited too preparing sites, demo/ removal of drywall, flooring, vanities, showers, appliances and more, setting equipment, creating containment, cleaning of hazardous materials, bagging hazardous waste, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to (wearing personal protective equipment) fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works in extreme conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, tight spaces, and exposure to dust and microbial growth.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects, walks, crouches and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina. Ability to maintain balance, work safely on steep slopes, and work from ladders of various heights. Ability to tolerate what is required to protect the employee on the job site. Position requires all employees who work on the field to wear protective gear, such as hazmat suit, and protective respirator gear.
