Under the direct supervision of the Physician practice manager, performs a variety of clerical duties related to the medical office, in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and organizational/departmental policies and procedures. Greets patients, accurately enters demographic and payor source information into EMR. Communicates with medical staff, other departments, patients, visitors and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.

Minimal Qualifications:

Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school. Two years experience in medical office scheduling appointments preferred. Completion of a medical terminology course helpful. Clerical experience required. Experience in dealing with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield and other third party payers, CPT and ICD-10 coding helpful. Basic typing, computer and communication skills a must.
