Evans Consulting is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Fairfax, VA

Description

Location Details: This role is hybrid with up to 3 days on-site/week.

Evans is hiring a Staff Accountant resource to join their growing team in the Fairfax, VA corporate office. You will perform accounting and general finance support functions that assist in executing standard accounting needs. We are seeking someone who demonstrates proven success in executing various financial functions of reconciliations, invoicing, expenses, and other accounting related tasks. 

  • Process and submit monthly accounts receivable invoices.
  • Maintain and process monthly invoice payment reconciliations.
  • Maintain and record prepaid expenses. 
  • Tracking and recording of fixed assets.
  • Month-end close activities to include adjusting journal entries & balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and process expense reports in accordance with Evans' policies, FTR/JTR, and FAR, when applicable.
  • Assist with monthly corporate card and travel reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual 1099 filing.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as needed. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (i.e., Finance/Accounting). 
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
  • Government contract accounting experience and a working knowledge of FAR/CAS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of general accounting theories, principles, and practices with a solid knowledge of general budgeting principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Unanet.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers. 
  • Precise, detail-oriented, and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Corporate Admin, Human Resources, Contracts, Senior Manager teams and Program Management Organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  •  Demonstrates critical thinking, active listening, self-starter attitude self-awareness and integrity.
