Research Data Collector (Contractual- 1099)

Evaluation Strategies is currently recruiting data collectors. Data collectors will complete in-person, online, or over-the-phone surveys with research project participants who live in the Detroit area. Additional responsibilities include attending in person participant recruiting events, usually after 3 p.m., in Detroit area middle schools; calling , emailing and texting participants and their guardians. Other tasks as assigned.

On average, up to 20 hours per week. Some weeks there will be no work, other weeks (during data collection weeks) up to 20 hours a week. We do have a schedule we follow.

Required tasks:

• Mandatory online data collection training;
• Phone calls, text messages, and emails with eligible participants and, when necessary, their parents/guardians;
• Sometimes collecting in-person surveys from participants;
• Attending in person recruitment events at local area schools and organizations;
• Keeping records of contacts with participants in a designated computer database.

Position requirements:

• Some evening/weekend availability;
• Ability to reliably and consistently complete tasks;
• Ability to communicate professionally with survey respondents and collect accurate data;
• Access to a phone, computer and internet;
• Previous data collection experience is preferred
• Excellent computer skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• A high school diploma;
• A valid U.S. driver’s license; and
• Access to an automobile with appropriate insurance.

A fingerprint security clearance and background check will be required.

Salary: $15 - $16 per hour depending on qualifications. Mileage will be paid when travel is required.
