Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work, public health, or nonprofit management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in homeless outreach programs, including experience with grant programs.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Experience working with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to homeless outreach programs and grant programs.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Grant Project Manager to join the NJ Transit Police Outreach Program. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of the NJ Operation Helping Hands Grant under the NJ Attorney General's Office, with a specific focus on outreach to the homeless population. Operation Helping Hand (OHH) is a program designed to provide access to treatment and recovery services for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

The primary focus of the NJ Transit OHH program is to offer support to individuals in or around transit facilities or using NJ Transit conveyances by connecting them with the necessary care.
As the NJ Transit Police OHH Outreach Grant Project Manager, you will coordinate with the NJ Transit Police Department and other stakeholders to develop and implement outreach programs that address the needs of homeless individuals, promote access to housing and services, and enhance public safety.

You will oversee the distribution of grant funds, monitor program performance, and report on progress to the Attorney General's Office and other relevant parties. The successful candidate will have a strong background in homeless outreach programs, project management, and community engagement. You should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of the challenges faced by homeless individuals in our communities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop and implement outreach programs that address the needs of homeless individuals, promote access to housing and services, and enhance public safety.
Coordinate with the NJ Transit Police Department and other stakeholders to ensure the effective distribution of grant funds.

Monitor and evaluate the program's performance, and report on its progress to the Attorney General's Office and other relevant parties.

Identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to address them.

Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Ensure that the program is operating in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

Manage and supervise project staff and contractors as needed.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all project activities.
