The Laser Operator Position:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Laser Operator at our Ormond Beach location. As a Laser Operator, you will collaborate closely with our assembly team, sales department, and administration to coordinate daily and weekly work scopes.

While prior experience with CO2 laser cutters is preferred, we are open to training candidates who exhibit a positive attitude, strong computer and math skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Summary:

This is a full-time position for on-site work at our Ormond beach location. Work hours are daytime, Monday-Friday.

• Pay will depend on skills and experience. Higher payscale for maintenance and upkeep of equipment, as well as ability to center beam.
• Duties include day-to-day laser cutting, including:

Cutting parts from acrylic using CO2 laser cutters

• Processing cut orders for retail, wholesale, and online orders.
• Scheduling jobs on several machines
• Laying out parts in CorelDRAW, Light Burn, and other programs
• Checking parts for quality and accuracy
• Recording machine settings and job notes in custom software
• Constant communication and coordination with others in production
• Monitoring stock levels for materials and consumables
• Organizing and cleaning the laser cutting area of the warehouse

Requirements:

• Reliable attendance and transportation
• Solid computer skills: can operate a Windows PC, comfortable learning new software.
• Strong math skills (shop math)
• Able to use a tape measure in both metric and inches/feet
• High mechanical aptitude
• Competence with basic hand tools
• Coordinated, with good fine motor skills and dexterity
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to multitask (able to run several machines at once)
• Organized, with good time management
• Ability to work alone and in a team

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally

Other desired (but not required) skills and experience:

• Management Experience
• Experience with CO2 or fiber laser cutters or similar machines
• Experience with laser cutting metals
• Experience with TurboCAD, CorelDRAW, other CAD, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
