Job descriptionSummary/ObjectiveThis position is responsible for safe and efficient truck operations. The route will consist of deliveries and pick up’s between Riviera Beach and Miami daily.Job Duties· Vehicle Inspection· Cycle Counting· Order Picking· Knowledge of DOT Regulations· Warehouse Knowledge· Inventory Product KnowledgeEssential Functions1. Work with the Route Manager, QC Manager and the Warehouse Managers scheduling loads, protecting inventory, and improving the receiving and dunnage process.2. Maintain general condition and care of equipment. Document damage, wear, or mechanical issues.3. Report and document all accidents, damage to the appropriate manager. Assist in investigating incidents.4. Work with the Managers to maximize productivity based on expected shipments, load requirements, pickup schedule.5. Ensure product is loaded according to supplier standards.6. Position trucks for loading and unloading; secure equipment including all vehicles by removing keys, locking doors.7. Maintain a regular year-round truck wash schedule of freight equipment.8. Report pallet, dunnage, cooperage, and cardboard on-hand issues.9. Contribute recommendations of any changes in procedures that would improve the productivity of the freight operations, which may require employing new types of equipment, processes, or technology.10. Maintain certification to operate all equipment and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.11. Maintain current driver’s license and insurability as required by the company and associated agencies.12. Complete other duties as assigned by the Route Manager including special projects, participating in meetings, special events, and working Saturdays when needed.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme temperature conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.Required Education and Experience· High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.Preferred Education and ExperienceAt least one year of previous experience as a delivery driver.CDL-B required but CDL-A preferred.Working knowledge of DOT processes.Prior delivery experience, preferably in a food distribution environment.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
