Description: 

In this CNC Manufacturing Engineer Senior I role you will be accountable for increasing the capability of production in all areas of the Euclid manufacturing operation through the implementation and sustainment of effective and compliant manufacturing processes, procedures, & equipment. You need to have good knowledge of programming in CAM software and setting up machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Ultra-Precision Lathes for contact lenes sample and production runs
  • Setup CNC lathe machines for machining high quality parts
  • Evaluate cutting manufacturing processes based on quality, speed, and efficiency
  • Study production and machine requirements
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance
  • Resolve issues and delays in production
  • Maintaining and improving controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, bill of materials and routers.
  • Conducting feasibility study to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.
  • Execute manufacturing improvement projects to reduce variability, improve production lead time and outputs, and increase labor & equipment efficiency
  • Collaborate with Production to develop and implement standard work practices, training, and preventative maintenance for all key manufacturing processes
  • Analyze data to identify root causes for manufacturing errors

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related; Mechanical Engineering preferred. 3 years of CNC machining & programming experience
  • Proven manufacturing background with CNC programming, setup & operation.
  • Familiarity with CNC manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques. Ultra-precision machining, Diamond lathe turning, Nanotech/ Optoform/DAC Contact Lens lathe experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM Software. VB, Java, C and Microsoft SQL Server database software experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • Understanding medical device requirements for software validation, installation qualification (IQ), operation qualification (OQ), and process qualification (PQ) as they relate to production equipment validation is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Good problem-solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools

  • Understands importance of adherence to all relevant company manufacturing, shipping / packaging and quality assurance related to Euclid Systems Corporate SOPs, Forms, Logs and indexes to ensure compliance with FDA regulations
