POSITION SUMMARY

ETW Energy is seeking an experienced and innovative General Manager with a successful record delivering consistent and predictable results by driving continual improvement in safety, efficiency, and quality of solar and other renewable installations. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of transforming a market through strategic leadership of people, process, and cost management.

As the General Manager you will be instrumental in steering the company towards a sustainable and electrified future. Your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the successful execution of the market. This includes ensuring that all projects are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing a mix of installation and electrical crews and coordinating with various stakeholders, such as account/project managers, design engineers, service, and subcontractors, to ensure successful project completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Coordination

  • Collaborate with account/project managers to review construction plans and schedules for solar energy system installations.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to review design specifications and ensure their feasibility prior to project permitting and construction.
  • Organize and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and provide guidance to crews, including subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, evaluate site safety, provide technical expertise, and address any construction-related issues or challenges.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve company objectives.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that solar energy systems are constructed to meet or exceed industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any construction defects, compliance issues, or safety hazards.
  • Collaborate with inspection/quality teams to develop and improve construction processes and procedures.

Safety and Compliance

  • Uphold and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all construction personnel.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations, codes, and industry best practices to ensure compliance throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and standups to educate and train on safe work practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project status, including daily progress reports, material usage, and any incidents or accidents.
  • Prepare comprehensive construction reports, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and deviations from the project plan.
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate project performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose corrective actions as needed.

Financial

  • Prepare and manage the market budget, ensuring financial targets and objectives are met.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Implement cost saving measures and optimize resource utilization to maximize profitability in the market.
  • Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and quality that support the market.

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in electrical, construction management, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in construction supervision, preferably in the renewable energy or solar industry is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, construction techniques, and relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide construction crews effectively.
  • Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle construction-related challenges and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to transport materials safely up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to excessive noise, extreme heat and cold, wet environment, humidity, and sunny and low light conditions.
  • Ability to safely work on rooftops with changing pitches and angels requiring frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance.
  • Ability to work with the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment.
  • Hand functions require fine motor skills, including but not limited to manual dexterity, manipulation, grasping, and pinching.
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces such as rafters, roof shingles, and tiles and prevent damage.
  • Ability to work in spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and basements as required that require kneeling and crouching.
  • Ability to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, and green.
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings.
  • Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate personal protective equipment.

Pay: $180,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
