Salary Range: $21.00 Hourly

Description

  1. DUTIES AND STANDARDS
    1. Participate in completing intake packets of unaccompanied alien child (UAC) entering the Program.
    2. Provide 24-hour care and supervision for the UAC to assure that their health, nutrition, education, social and recreational needs is met.
    3. Assess, in conjunction with clinician’s and case manager if appropriate, the behavioral and emotional needs of UAC, and provide behavioral management and support their emotional needs as indicated.
    4. Facilitate, in conjunction with recreational counselor, recreational support groups.
    5. Facilitate in conjunction with clinician, and/or case manager, orientation groups.
    6. Supervise family visits on assigned shifts.
    7. Contribute to developing goals and or discharge plans for individual youth and updating and communicating goals and objectives as needed.
    8. Establish a positive, interpersonal relationship with UAC in shelter placement.
    9. Assist recreational counselor in the planning and carrying out of activities in the home and community.
    10. Assist UAC to achieve his/her goals as determined by UAC and treatment team members.
    11. Complete written documentation as required or requested.
    12. Communicate with Group Home Administrator and other staff as needed on progress, problems as directed or needed.
    13. Obtain prior approval from Group Home Administrator for special activities and out of town travel.
    14. Provide quality supervision, care and treatment for the youth.
    15. Make needed operational decisions on assigned shifts, including contacting the supervisor and/or Group Home Administrator for emergency consultations pertaining to established policies and procedures.
    16. Follow nutritional and sanitation guidelines for food preparation.
    17. Participate in the training of new staff.
    18. Report emergencies to the Shift Supervisor, and/or Group Home Administrator.
    19. Be available on an on-call rotation to cover weekends and weekday nights as needed.
    20. Submit receipts, mileage/gas vouchers at scheduled times and as directed by supervisor.
    21. Prepare accurate and reliable reports containing findings, conclusions, recommendations and justifications.
    22. Document changes in youth’s behaviors and emotional status on a daily basis, noting such observations on communication log.
    23. Communicate changes to all staff on shift and during shift exchange members verbally and in writing on a daily basis.
    24. Prepares significant incident report (SIR) for review by Group Home Administrator.
    25. Responsible for safely operating personal/leased vehicles during the transportation of client’s, travel to other regions, and any business related travel as assigned by your supervisor.
    26. Maintains awareness of work environment and performs duties in a safe and responsible manner.
    27. Maintain tact, diplomacy and professionalism at all times adhering to the values established at Ettie Lee Youth & Family Services.
    28. Participate in regular individual and group supervision and or in-service training with supervisor, and/or Group Home Administrator or other Ettie Lee representatives.
    29. Attends and participate in meetings as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
    30. Carry out other duties as assigned.
  2. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED
    1. Supervision of staff is not a requirement of this position.
  3. REGULAR WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
    1. Receives supervision from Program Director/Manager.
    2. Collaborates with other agency staff.

    1. Non-Exempt: This position may require after hours/evening work as needs of the agency dictate.

  6. CONTINUES DEVELOPING PROFESSIONALLY
    1. Utilizes agency training system as well as professional workshops and conferences as a resource for improving job knowledge and performance and for resolving job-related issues.
    2. Utilizes supervisor consistently and effectively as a resource for increasing and improving job knowledge, job performance and for resolving job-related stress.
    3. Stays abreast of laws and regulations regarding all aspects of this position.
    4. Completes a minimum of forty hours of approved training annually.
    5. Maintain any required certification (CPR, First Aid, Water-Safety, and Pro-Act).
  7. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    1. Requires frequent sitting, standing, bending and reaching.
    2. Requires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine and other office equipment.
    3. Requires eyesight correctable to normal range to operate a vehicle.
    4. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.
    5. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting.
    6. Requires ability to physically restrain a client(s).
    7. Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours.
  8. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
    1. A valid California Driver’s License with at least five (5) years of driving experience.
    2. No more than two (2) violations totaling one point each in the past three (3) years.
    3. No DUI or suspended license in the last seven (7) years.
    4. Proof of auto insurance coverage.
    5. Department of Justice, FBI, and CAIC fingerprinting clearance.
    6. Fully completed and submitted employment application, resume and an official DMV driving history.
    7. Must have proof of immunizations for: Varicella (Chicken Pox), MMR, TDaP

Qualifications


Case Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for the case management services and the safe and timely release services of the UC.
Complete the Intake Assessments and schedule the UC Initial Medical Exams.
Coordinate with the clinician the completion of the Assessment for Risk.
Coordinates with the Group Home Supervisors and Youth Counselors to supervise and implement all case management services and individual UC case plans.

Must have the following qualifications:

  • Two years of full-time experience, or it's equivalent working with the population to be served, or equivalent education or experience (experience can be a paid volunteer, or volunteer staff whose duties required direct supervision and care of the population served) (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Corrections, Psychology, Social Work or Social Welfare
