ETS Electrofishing Systems is a small custom electronics manufacturer that builds equipment used by fisheries biologists to manage and protect the environment. We design and manufacture electrofishing boat, backpack, and stream barge equipment for government and private agencies including the WI DNR. Electrofishing is a tool used to create electrical fields within the water to attract and temporarily immobilize fish so they can be studied without harm. Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, flexible shift 8-4 or 9-5 during business hours. Paid 30-minute lunch break.

Location: Located on bus lines and close to downtown Madison and Williamson Street area. Benefits are provided for commuting by bus or bike.

Wage: $22-$24

Qualifications: Relevant technical degree or experience with electrical circuitry, soldering, and mechanical assembly. Mechanical aptitude and close attention to detail are required.

Job Description: Duties include both electrical and mechanical assembly of electrofishing equipment. Electrical assembly includes layout, attaching components to a chassis, wiring, and soldering connections. Mechanical assembly includes layout, labeling, cutting, sanding, drilling, and tapping a variety of materials using hand and power tools. Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs is required. Other responsibilities may include inventory management, documentation, parts ordering, and shipping operations. Attention to detail and closely following plans or copying models is required. This position may lead to assisting with electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and design of new products.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
